PLEASE NOTE: An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and anyone with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. We cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed during your visit and by visiting Virginia International Gymnastics Schools, Inc., you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID0-19.

                                                                                                                   UPDATE - MAY 15, 2021

We are currently under Covid-19 guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and the Governor of Virginia. AS OF MAY 15TH PERSONS WHO ARE TWO WEEKS OUT AFTER HAVING THEIR FINAL COVID-19 VACCINE, NO LONGER NEED TO WEAR A MASK OR PHYSICALLY DISTANCE. ALL STUDENTS 5 TO 11 YEARS OF AGE MUST CONTINUE WEARING A MASK WHILE PARTICIPATING IN CLASSES AS WELL AS THE NORMAL WEARING WHILE ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE BUILDING. This may take a little getting used to, or not be an issue at all for your child. You may have noticed that our competitive teams have been wearing their masks during the last year. They even competed in their masks all season. So we have a great deal of experience with the issue of wearing masks while doing gymnastics. We don't feel the intensity level of our class program presents a hardship to a child wearing a proper fitting mask. Please help us help your family, others in the community and our instructors to end this Covid-19 pandemic by explaining to your child the necessity and good they are doing by wearing their mask in class. Everyone here at VIGS wants to keep providing a fun escape each week for your child. We also want to continue to provide employment for our staff, who rely on their jobs to pay their bills. If VIGS has to shut down due to a Covid-19 event, we won't be able to do those things for weeks or months. Everyone at VIGS - staff, athletes, students and parents - have been incredible since the pandemic arrived in March. Thank you for that and please help us take this small but necessary step to be even better. At least until the current guidelines are lifted.

The staff at VIGS has been very busy teaching our students and keeping the gym safe. We have been deep cleaning, we put a fresh coat of paint on, we disinfect all surfaces and matting constantly and disassembled and disinfected our pit area before covering it for ease of cleaning. Staff wears masks. Hand sanitizer is being required of students before taking turns on certain equipment and instructors are using hand sanitizer strategically to keep everyone safe. Between rotations and classes, we "fog" the equipment as well. We have removed certain water fountains and replaced them with hand washing stations. We have installed touchless faucets in the restrooms. Restrooms are cleaned regularly. The registration desk has a plexiglass barrier to give you and our office staff a higher level of protection and comfort as they help you get your children enrolled. All of this can change and even more could be done depending on day to day changes in the Covid-19 environment.

  • Please Note The Following Important Helpful Information:           (Also See The Video In The Next Section Below)

    One parent
of each student may enter the building and must sit in the student's designated chair to watch classes. Additional spectators cannot be allowed at this time. However, we have installed temporary closed circuit cameras for parents to watch classes on your phone or other device from the comfort of your car in the parking lot. The information for downloading the necessary "app" and username and password is available by request at the front door when you drop off your child.

Please monitor your child's health and keep them home if they are feeling ill, have a temperature of 100.4 or higher or have been exposed to anyone with Covid-19.

Please wait in your vehicle or on the sidewalk outside with proper distancing, until the staff is ready for your child's class. We have purposely built in time between classes for the staff to disinfect equipment and chairs and for the disinfectant to work.

Please use the main front door to drop your child off for classes and registering in person if necessary. If you have registered by phone already (the preferred method) and only need to sign your waiver, it will be available at the front foyer without having to enter the building.

Your child will exit the right side door
of the building when class is over. Please do not drive, but walk - and social distance - to that side door area to meet your child so as to eliminate traffic back-ups.

MASKS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES IN THE BUILDING. AS OF JANUARY 1, 2021, FOR STUDENTS AND ATHLETES 5 TO 11 YEARS OF AGE. THIS MEANS DURING CLASS AND PRACTICES AS WELL..

Students must bring their own bottled water as our communal water fountains will not be available.

Each student should only bring shoes and water to class. They will have a chair that is properly distanced, to wait in for class to begin and to hold their shoes and water bottle. The chairs are disinfected after each class. "Cubbies" will not be available.

    Please try
to have your child use the restroom before leaving home if possible. Restrooms will be available at VIGS if needed.

Hand washing will be required by students and staff.

The Covid-19 pandemic was unprecedented. We want to thank all of our customers for supporting us in this difficult time. Your phone calls and other encouragement have been uplifting! The prospect of returning to "normal" again and being able to provide you with the fun of gymnastics has kept us motivated. To our staff at VIGS, we appreciate your dedication and enthusiasm during the past year! You're the best! The one certain thing we can all look forward to is that this will pass in the near future.

Please continue to sanitize, practice good hygiene and be safe. We're almost there!

Thank you!
