The staff at VIGS has been very busy teaching our returning students and campers and keeping the gym safe. We have been deep cleaning, we put a fresh coat of paint on, we disinfect all surfaces and matting constantly and disassembled and disinfected our pit area before covering it for ease of cleaning. Staff wears masks. Hand sanitizer is being required of students before taking turns on certain equipment and instructors are using hand sanitizer strategically to keep everyone safe. We have removed certain water fountains and replaced them with hand washing stations. We have installed touchless faucets in the restrooms. Restrooms are cleaned every thirty minutes. The registration desk has a plexiglass barrier to give you and our office staff a higher level of protection and comfort as they help you get your children enrolled again. All of this can change and even more could be done depending on day to day changes in the Covid-19 environment.

  • Please Note The Following Important Helpful Information:           (Also See The Video In The Next Section Below)
Parents or spectators will not be allowed in the building yet. However, we have installed temporary closed circuit cameras for parents to watch classes on your phone or other device from the comfort of your car in the parking lot. The information for downloading the necessary "app" and username and password is available by request at the front door when you drop off your child.

Please monitor your child's health and keep them home if they are feeling ill, have a temperature of 100.4 or higher or have been exposed to anyone with Covid-19.
We will be taking the temperature of everyone entering the building. Those with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will not be allowed to enter or participate in classes.

Please use the main front door to drop your child off for classes and registering in person if necessary. If you have registered by phone
already (the preferred method) and only need to sign your waiver, it will be available at the front door without having to enter the building.
Your child will exit the right side door of the building when class is over. Please do not drive, but walk - and social distance - to that
side door area to meet your child so as to eliminate traffic back-ups.

Masks should be worn when anyone enters and exits the building. For students this means until their class begins and after class to exit.

Students must bring their own bottled water as our communal water fountains will not be available.

Each student should only bring shoes and water to class. They will have a chair that is properly distanced, to wait in for class to begin
and to hold their shoes and water bottle. The chairs are disinfected after each class. "Cubbies" will not be available.
Please try to have your child use the restroom before leaving home if possible. Restrooms will be available at VIGS if needed.

Hand washing will be required by students and staff.

PLEASE NOTE: An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and anyone with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. We cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed during your visit and by visiting Virginia International Gymnastics Schools, inc., you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID0-19.

The current Covid-19 pandemic is unprecedented. We want to thank all of our customers for supporting us in this difficult time. Your phone calls and other encouragement have been uplifting! The prospect of seeing everyone again and to be able to provide you with the fun of gymnastics has kept us motivated to prepare for your return. To our staff at VIGS, we appreciate your dedication and enthusiasm during this period! You're the best! The one certain thing we can all look forward to is that this will pass with time and we'll be back to a "new normal".

Please continue to practice good hygiene, distancing and be safe. Just as important, look out for each other, family, friends and those not so fortunate that may need our help and compassion right now.

Thank you!

Management, Virginia International Gymnastics Schools, Inc.

Here's a huge THANK YOU to all the Nurses and Doctors working to save and protect us and eliminate this Covid-19. Please know this includes the dozens and dozens of current and former VIGS parents and athletes who are in those professions now. We are infinitely proud and thankful you do what you do. Please be safe!

Coronavirus Notice

Along with the rest of the country, Virginia International Gymnastics Schools has been paying close attention to the ongoing health concerns related to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and has spent the last several months learning about Coronavirus and how to minimize its impact on our staff, students and families here at VIGS.

Our overriding concern has been and will continue to be keeping you, your child and our employees safe. At this point, we are following all recommendations from State and Federal authorities to help mitigate this virus.

Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly (for 20 seconds) during practice or classes, after using the restroom or after any sneeze/cough.
If soap and water are unavailable, use hand sanitizer.

  • Cover any cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve/elbow, or a tissue (then dispose) and not your hands.
  • Practice physical distancing of at least six feet and stay at home if possible.
  • Routinely clean any surfaces/objects that are frequently touched (e.g., your phone).
  • When we are able to resume, do not let your child attend practice or class if they are feeling ill, and please communicate with VIGS if you or your child is diagnosed with Coronavirus so we may take further precautions for our members.

Additional recommendations and resources from Chesterfield County Schools information:

Once we reopen, if your child has symptoms of illness that would prevent participation at school, then please keep your child at home and call the school (VIGS) to report that your child is sick. Returning to school (VIGS) too soon may delay recovery from illness and may potentially expose others.

  • Fever: Children should not be in school (VIGS) if they have a temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher and should stay home until the fever is gone for 24 hours without medication. During influenza season, children with a fever and other flu-like symptoms may be asked to stay home longer.
  • Vomiting and diarrhea: Children should not attend school (VIGS) if they are vomiting or have diarrhea. Children are asked to stay home until 24 hours after the last time they vomited or had diarrhea.

The CDC has a comprehensive website updated throughout the day with the latest news: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html. This site includes a tab for visitors to monitor travel updates.

The Virginia Department of Health has a comprehensive website that provides guidance and an updated look at case numbers:http://www.vdh.virginia.gov/surveillance-and-investigation/novel-coronavirus/.

Our VIGS employees are following CDC recommendations, including:

Requiring all employees to practice respiratory etiquette, hand hygiene, physical distancing and other precautionary measures that mitigate
Taking temperature readings before entering the building.

Advising employees to stay home if they are sick or appear to have acute respiratory illness (i.e., cough, shortness of breath).

We will continually update all of our procedures as we learn of new and better ways to keep us all safe.

We will continue to monitor CDC guidelines and keep you posted of any significant changes. Be assured, we will continue taking precautions — regular deep cleaning and disinfecting — to help mitigate any virus risk in our building.

Our customer health and safety are utmost at Virginia International Gymnastics Schools, Inc., and we strive to continue to be a safe place to enjoy gymnastics.

Thank you for taking this seriously and joining us in mitigating the threat of Coronavirus so we can all continue to enjoy gymnastics at VIGS very soon!

Please let us know if you have any questions.
